Jennifer Smith - Contributions Manager

Jennifer moved to Peppard with her family in 1969, after a ten year nomadic life in the UK and Africa . She was soon involved with the Friends of Peppard School, the Parochial Church Council and the Young Wives group flourished under her leadership, though they couldn’t all be classified as ‘young’. She took on the management of the British Dyslexia Association for ten years as a volunteer and when the charity outgrew the space available in her home, moved the Association to its present premises in Reading .
Her children and some of her grandchildren attended Peppard Primary School and she returned to school to help with literacy and numeracy. In her spare time, Jennifer has written and published two books with four friends; sales, together with talks, have raised over £2,000 for the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust: book No 3 is in the pipeline. With the encouragement of the late Lord Silsoe, she joined the Peppard News team in 2005 and shares with Penny the work of requesting/reminding and collecting contributions, collating the diary page, researching new contacts and news items, etc.
